Tinanggap umano ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang nominasyon ng partidong PDP-Laban para maging vice presidential candidate sa 2022 elections.
Handa naman si Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto na maging kalaban ang pangulo sa darating na eleksyon.
“That’s good to know so that we are not guessing. It does not affect my resolve anyway,” saad ni Sotto sa mga reporter sa text message.
Para naman kay Lacson, patuloy ang kanyang determinasyon na tumakbong pangulo.
Dagdag pa nito na wala nang atrasan ang kanilang desisyon na lumahok sa presidential at vice presidential race sa 2022. “That said, we continue to hope that the electorate will not be swayed by entertainment politics nor affected by fear and intimidation when they choose our country’s next leaders,” saad niya.
“As long as the campaign runs on issues involving our people’s desire for good governance made possible by fixing a systematically broken government, we are good,” dagdag ng senador.
