Dahon,ginagamit ng Samar State University student sa paggawa ng obra

TACLOBAN CITY – Kakaiba ang ginagawa ni Ryan Rio-Legatub Managaysay sa isang dahon na ‘salikupkop’.Ito ang tawag sa ‘fern leaves’sa Waray. Ang nasabing dahon ay ginagamit ni Ryan sa kanyang art medium.

Kung saan, ginagamit niya ang salikupkop bilang leaf portrait. Ang kanyang subject sa paggawa ng obra ay ang mga kilalang personalidad.

Kabilang na rito ang portraits nina President Rodrigo Duterte, Sen. Manny Pacquiao at Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

Si Ryan, tubong Tarangnan, Samar ay nag-aaral Samar State University sa kursong Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education.

Ang guro nitong si Jhonil Bajado ang nakatuklas ng talen ng binata. Ito rin ang nagpost ngmga obra nito sa social media.

 “His first leaf art was a portrait of mine. He was not confident to show it to me at first, because he did not consider it worthy (of) my attention, he said. In fact, I saw it in his ‘My Day’ post first, before he sent it to me via Messenger upon my request. Knowing how unassuming this kid is, I know he was just hesitant to show the artistic work of his hand,” ani Bajado.

“These artworks are, to me, a symbolic representation of the Bisayan resilience and the Filipino artistry.”
