Asian C’ship pati UCI BMX World Cup sa 2025 muling nag-bid si Bambol sa Tagaytay

Naging panauhin ni   Philippine Olympic Committee atPhilCycling president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino si Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richard “Dickie” Bachmann nitong weekend sa awarding ceremony ng  Asian BMX Freestyle and Racing Championships Sunday sa Tagaytay City BMX and Skateboard Park.

AGARANG nag-alok ang PhilCycling ng pagnanais na muling i-host ang Asian BMX Championships sa 2025 bilang pasakalye ng mas malaking target ng Pilipinas na maging unang bansa sa Asia. na maghu-host ng International Cycling Union (UCI) BMX World Cup sa kaparehong taon.

Nag-bid si Cycling head at Philippine Olympic Committee president Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino kay Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) secretary-general Onkar Singh at UCI management committee member Datuk Amarjit Singh ng Malaysia nitong final day ng 2023 Asian BMX Championships para sa Freestyle at Racing sa Tagaytay City BMX Park mitong weekend.

“With the success of this year’s Asian BMX championships, Tagaytay City is declaring its bid not only for the continental championships but also for the UCI World Cup in 2025,” wika ni Tolentino, na siya ring mayor ng Tagaytay City.

Umabot sa 200 athletes at officials mula 9 na Asian countries—kabilang na ang mga  riders

na nasa edad-9 anyos na nakipagtunggali sa Challenge events sa  tatlong araw ng kampeonato na huling qualifier ng cycling discipline para sa Paris 2024 Olympics.

  Ang isang bansang nais na mag-host ng World Cup, sinabi ni Tolentino na ang  BMX track ay kinakailangang maging modified.

“Innovations on the current BMX track would be implemented, especially on raising the start ramp from its present 5-meter height to the world championships and World Cup standard of 8 meters,” aniya.

Plano niyang magtayo ng V-shaped start ramp—5 meters at 8 meters—na iimplementa sa lalong madaling panahon.

“But hosting the Asian championships and the World Cup would have to be in the first five months of the year when the rains—and the Tagaytay fog—are scant,”ani pa Tolentino na tumanggap ng papuri mula 

ACC at UCI officials—pati

foreign commissaires—dahilan sa gara ng track.

  Inaasahan naman ni Onkar Singh  na mas maraming bansa sa Asia ang lalahok sa 2025 dahil nasaksihan niya mismo ang first-hand at high standard ng pati na ang ‘efficiency ng local organizing committee.

Ang UCI World Cup o BMX  nakaka-attract ng lalaki at babaeng riders mula higit sa l40 na bansa.
