AKBAYAN PARTY: “SARILI MUNA ANG SINE-SECURE NI SARA KAYSA SA MGA ANAK NATIN”

Binanatan ng Akbayan Party si Vice President at Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte matapos ibulgar ng Commission on Audit (COA) na umabot sa 433 security personnel ang kinuha ng VP noong 2022.

“Secure na secure talaga si Sara. ‘Di hamak na mas secure kumpara sa mga kabataang Pilipinong nabibigyan sana ng pagkakataong makapag-aral at sa halip ay nabibiktima ng police violence mula pa sa termino ng tatay niya hanggang ngayon, kagaya ni Jemboy at John Frances,” ayon kay Akbayan Party Spokesperson Perci Cendaña.

Ang tinutukoy ni Cendaña ang pagkakapaslang ng pulisya sa 17-anyos na si Jerhode “Jemboy” Baltazar sa Navotas City at sa 15-anyos na si John Frances Ompad ng Rodriguez, Rizal nitong Agosto.

“The Vice President is amassing her private army within her office while neglecting her duty to improve access to quality public education for our children. Padagdag nang padagdag ang mga bantay niya habang tinatanggal ang learning materials na nakapaskil sa mga classroom,” dagdag ni  Cendaña.

Ayon sa report, mas mataas ng 455% ang security at protection group ni Sara kung ihahambing sa kanyang pinalitan na si dating Vice President Leni Robredo, na may 78 military personnel lamang sa ilalim ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) noong 2021.

“How can we expect the Vice President to become a good manager of the country’s public education system and care for our youth? Sa OVP pa lang, ayon sa report ng COA, higit sa kalahati ng personnel ay ang 433 na kasapi ng Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group.
Kung ‘Angat Buhay’ ang naging sentro ng OVP ni Atty. Leni Robredo, ‘Aksayang Budget’ naman ang kay Sara,” saad ni Cendaña, dating commissioner ng National Youth Commission.

“Misplaced priorities lead to misused public funds. In the end, the ones who will suffer are our children who depend on quality public education to secure a better future. Ang problema, sarili muna ang sine-secure ni Sara. Imbyerna ang private army. Improve public education dapat,” pagtatapos niya.
