‘WALA NG LOCKDOWN’ – DIOKNO (Sa kabila ng pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19)

TUMAAS sa 9.3 percent ang COVID-19 potivity rate sa National Capital Region, halos doble sa positivity rate ng 5 percent na itinakda ng World Health Organization, subalit malabong magpatupad ng community lockdown sa kabila ng pagtaas ng mga kaso.

Tumaas din ang positive rate ng bansa sa 6.8 percent nitong June 28 hanggang July 3.

Sinabi ni Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno ngayong araw na hindi na kailangan pa ng lockdown dahil majority ng Pinoy ay bakunado na laban sa COVID-19.

Paliwanag pa ni Diokno, papunta na ang bansa sa endemic.

“I think no country now, except China, will go into general lockdowns. I think we have now graduated from being pandemic to endemic,” ani Diokno.

“We have to live with the virus. Most of us are vaccinated anyway, some of us even have boosters. In fact, that (vaccination) is also key to the 100 percent opening or face-to-face opening of classes. The plan is, it will start opening up by August and then 100 percent by November,” dagdag pa niya. Noong Miyerkoles, sinabi ng Department of Health (DOH) na ang Cordillera, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal at Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon at Palawan) at Western Visayas regions ay mayroon ding positivity rates sa itaas ng 5 porsiyentong threshold na itinakda ng World Health Organization.
