UAE, HUNGARY KASAMA NA RIN SA TRAVEL BAN


MANILA – Inihayag ni Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente sa isang advisory na kasama na rin ang mga dayuhang biyahero na nagmula sa United Arab Emirates at Hungary sa pinalawig na travel restriction, simula Enero 17 ng hatinggabi.

Ayon kay Morente, ang naturang paghihigpit ay alinsunod sa kautusan ng Malacañang na isama ang dalawang bansa bilang dagdag na hakbang upang matugunan ang pag-usbong ng COVID-19 variant.

“The expanded travel restrictions is in effect tomorrow midnight,” wika ni Morente.  

“Hence, foreign nationals who are coming from the 35 restricted countries, or have traveled there within the last 14 days prior to arrival in the country shall be excluded,” dagdag pa niya.

Kahapon nang ianunisyo ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) ang pagpapalawig ng travel ban sa mga dayuhan na galing mula sa United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Australia, Israel, The Netherlands, The People’s Republic of China, including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Switzerland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lebanon, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, Spain at United States.

Kasama rin sa travel ban ang mga manggagaling sa  Portugal, India, Finland, Norway, Jordan, Brazil, Austria, Pakistan, Jamaica, Luxembourg, at Oman.

“Filipinos who will be arriving from these countries will be allowed to enter, but will be referred to the port’s one stop shop for strict implementation of a 14-day quarantine,” ibinahagi ni  Morente. 

“On the other hand, arriving unaccompanied minors from the 35 countries will not be allowed to board aircrafts.  In the unlikely event that they arrive, they shall be turned over to the Overseas Workers Welfare Association for assistance and to ensure that they undergo the required 14-day quarantine,” pahayag pa niya.
