NANGAKO ang gobyerno ng United States ng $1-million aid (P58.7 milyon) para sa mga biktima ng Severe Tropical Storm Pepito (internationak name: Man-yi).
Ito ang inanunsiyo ni US Secretary of Defense Llyod James Austin III sa kanyang courtesy call kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa Malacañang nitong Lunes.
“Mr. President, I have authorized US troops and all the Philippine forces to provide life-saving aid to the Filipino people. The US has also secured another million dollars in urgent humanitarian aid, and that will enhance the work of the USAID [United States Agency for International Development] and the World Food Programme,” saad ni Austin kay Marcos.
“The amount is on top of the $5.5 million provided to the Philippine government through USAID last September,” dagdag pa niya.
Magpapadala rin ang US ng halos 50 tonelada ng relief items sa mga biktima ng bagyo.
