UGANDAN NATIONAL HINARANG NG BI SA PEKENG PASAPORTE

PINIGILANG makapasok ng bansa ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang babaeng Ugandan national matapos gumamit ng pekeng pasaporte.

Kinilala ang dayuhan na si Phiona Apolot, 28, na dumating sakay ng Air Asia flight na nagmula sa Lumpur, Malaysia.

Napag-alaman mula kay BI spokesperson Dan Sandoval na hinarang ng mga immigration officer si Apolot matapos matukoy ang ilang iregularidad sa kanyang pasaporte.

Nang isinailalim sa forensic examination ang dokumento ni Apolot, nakumpirma na peke ang passport ng Ugandan national.

Dahil dito, ipinag-utos ni Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco na pabalikin si Apolot kung saan siya nanggaling bansa.

“This incident serves as a stern reminder to all would-be offenders that our immigration officers are highly trained and equipped to detect and intercept individuals attempting to circumvent our immigration laws. We will continue to enhance our efforts in collaboration with international partners to combat illegal activities and maintain the highest level of security,” ayon kay Tansingco. ARSENIO TAN
