TIKTOK BAWAL NA SA BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION

PINAGBAWALAN ng Bureau of Immigration of Immigration ang mga empleyado nito na mag-post ng video sa social media partikular na ang Tiktok habang suot ang kanilang official uniform na nagsasayaw, kumakanta at iba pang performing acts.

Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente na ang naturang kautusan ay inilabas upang mapanatili ang integridad ng mga empleyado na nagsisilbing kinatawan ng ng naturang ahensiya ng gobyerno.

 ”Our policy on the wearing of the BI uniform is clear.  As public servants and supposed model Filipinos, employees must proudly wear their uniform at all times, present a professional image to the public and observe proper decorum and good taste in all their actions while they are on duty,” saad ni Morente.

Dagdag pa niya na ang pagpo-post gaya ng video sa social media ng empleyado ng BI ay nagpapahina sa reputasyon ng bureau at lumilikha ng negatibong imahe sa mga tauhan ng ahensiya, lalo na sa mga frontline immigration officer na nakatalaga sa mga port of entry.

Nagbabala din si Morente sa mga kawani ng BI na ang pagkuha ng video sa kanilang sarili habang nasa oras ng trabaho ay paglabag sa direktiba hinggil sa pagbabawal sa paggamit ng mobile phone at iba pang klase ng electronic gadget habang sila ay nasa tungkulin gayundin sa paglabag sa umiiral na BI social media policy.

“BI personnel must adhere with the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees with respect to their actions online, and to desist from behaviors that would bring disrepute to public service”.  All employees were likewise ordered to “observe proper decorum on social media to protect the integrity of the agency,” ayon sa pahayag ng BI’s Internal Social Media Policy.

Nag-ugat ang kautusan matapos makaraang sumulpot ang iba’t ibang video ng airport immigration officers sa Tiktok. Inilarawan ng BI chief ang mga video bilang “reckless” na nagpapaliit sa imahe ng bureau.

Nagbabala si Morente sa mga empleyado ng BI na hindi susunod sa nasabing kautusan na maaari silang maharap sa kasong administratibo dahil sa insubordination at conduct prejudicial to the interest of the service.
