Ihihirit ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa sa pamahalaan na tanggalin na ang coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) state of public health emergency sa bansa.
“Wala nang emergency diba? I think I would actually ask the lifting of the Public Health Emergency in the country,” ayon sa Kalihim.
Inihalintulad din ang COVID-19 sa pangkaraniwang sakit.
“It’s just one of the diseases we monitor just like influenza and cough, colds, etc.,” saad niya.
“The alert level system will stay kasi [because] that’s a system like the typhoon signal that stays but actually, parang hindi na siya a public health emergency,” dagdag pa nito.
Matatandaan na unang idineklara ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang public health emergency dulot ng COVID-19 at state of calamity noong Marso 2020.
Sa Proclamation 922, mananatili pa rin ang state of public health emergency hangga’t hindi pa binabawi o inaalis ng punong ehekutibo.
