SMC NAKUMPLETO VACCINATION SA ILANG DAANG INMATE SA QC JAIL

Ilan sa mga dating inmate ng Quezon City jail ang bumalik kamakailan lang sa prison facility – pero hindi dahil sa may kinasangkutang krimen.

Bumalik kasi sila para sa kanilang 2^nd dose ng COVID-19 vaccines, nabakunahan sila sa ilalim ng joint program ng San Miguel Corporation’s (SMC) infrastructure arm, San Miguel Holdings Corp., ang Quezon City chapter ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Isinagawa ang vaccination drive, na layong palawigin ang proteksyon laban sa nakamamatay na virus sa ilang daang inmates at maiwasan ang pagkalat ng sakit sa siksikan na pasilidad, ng medical teams sa ilalim ng San Miguel Foundation’s “Ligtas Lahat” nationwide vaccination task force.

Ginamit ang “Bakuna Bus” mobile vaccination unit ng kompanya para dalhin ang medical teams at second doses ng AstraZeneca vaccines sa jail facility. Unang natanggap ng mga inmates ang kanilang first dose sa parehong programa noong Agosto 2021.

Nasa 11 indibidwal na nakalaya na sa piitan ang bumalik para tanggapin ang kanilang second jabs.


 “Even as the number of cases have gone down significantly, continuous vaccination is still the most critical component of a sustained recovery for our country. And this means we cannot leave anyone behind, especially those in our marginalized sectors, and even those in our prison populations,” ayon kay SMC president Ramon S. Ang.

“I’m glad that even the inmates themselves appreciate the importance of getting vaccinated, so much so that even those that had already been released, came back to get their second shot. We’re grateful that the government, through BJMP, as well as organizations such as the IBP, are there to look after the welfare of inmates, and organize support for their vaccination,” dagdag niya.
