Sa tagumpay ng Gilas sa SEAG… SALAMAT PBA AT UAAP! – SBP

PINASALAMATAN ni Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al Panlilio ang Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) at  University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) sa pagpapaunlak sa kanilang mga manlalaro para katawanin ang bansa sa matagumpay na kampanya ng koponan sa katatapos na   Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) Cambodia 2023.

“On behalf of the SBP, I would like to thank UAAP, the PBA, its team owners and the Board of Governors again for allowing its players to be part of the Gilas Team that won the Gold Medal in a hard fought match against the host country,” wika ni Panlilio sa kanyang liham sa naturang  basketball associations.

Ayon  kay Panlilio, ang SBP ay di matatawaran ang makabayang kontribusyon ng  PBA sa paglawig at  pagsulong partikular ang tagumpay ng larangan ng basketball para sa bansa.

“The competitiveness in the league allowed Gilas to rise above the challenge it faced in Cambodia,”ani pa  Panlillio.

Ang mga PBA players na sumabak sa SEA Games ay binubuo nina Justin Brownlee,  CJ Perez, Christian Standhardinger, Chris Ross, Calvin Oftana, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Marcio Lassiter, Arvin Tolentino, at Chris Newsome.

Sinabi pa ni Panlilio na ang tagumpay ng   National Team Program ay sandig sa  individual programs  ng mga katuwang na institusyon tulad ng  UAAP at mga miyembrong paaralan nito.

“The Gold Medal that Gilas Pilipinas had brought home would not have been possible without your (UAAP’s) support and cooperation. We are truly greatful for the skills and competitveness that you have instilled and nurtured in your student athletes and their sense of national pride,” sambit ng pinuno ng SBP.

Kinabibilangan ng UAAP collegiate players na naging bahagi ng winning Gilas Pilpinas team sa SEA Games nina (Adamson) Jerome Lastimosa, (Ateneo)Mason Amos at  Michael Philips ng La Salle. Sa kasagsagan na ngayon ng  preparasyon ng bansa sa pinakaprestihiyosong  World Cup FIBA basketball championship, na ihu-host ng Pilipinas sa darating na Agosto ng taon ,nananawagan si Panlilio sa lahat ng basketball stakeholders na magkaisa sa pagsuporta sa Gilas Pilipinas sa kanilang pagsabak  sa ultimong kumpetisyon sa international arena.
