NAKAMIT muli ng Navotas ang pinakaaasam na Seal of Good Local Governance mula sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa ikalimang pagkakataon.
Tinanggap ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco, kasama sina Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez at City Administrator Christia Padolina, ang parangal noong Miyerkules sa Manila Hotel.
“We are more than honored to receive another seal from the DILG, the highest recognition for LGUs. We are proud of what we have accomplished and, at the same time, humbled by the recognition,” ayon kay Tiangco.
“We thank our fellow public servants in the city government and all other stakeholders for their constant support and cooperation. Ang award na ito ay para po sa bawat Navoteno,” dagdag niya.
Ang SGLG ay isang institutionalized award, incentive, at recognition-based program ng pambansang pamahalaan na naglalayong itaas ang kultura ng mabuting pamamahala.
Ang mga natatanggap na seal ay kailangang pumasa sa pagtatasa sa lahat ng sampung lugar ng pamamahala tulad ng Financial Administration and Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and Youth Development.
Ang mga SGLG awardees ngayong taon ay pinagkalooban ng incentive fund subsidy na nagkakahalaga ng P2.3 milyon.
Natanggap din ng Navotas ang SGLG noong 2015, 2017, 2019 at 2022.
Nauna rito, pinagkalooban din ang lungsod ng Gawad Kalasag para sa paghahanda at pamamahala sa kalamidad.
