RECTO: PARTISIPASYON NG PH SA MACC MAKAKATULONG VS TAX EVASION

Welcome kay Finance Secretary Ralph Recto ang pagratipika  ng Senado sa paglahok ng Pilipinas sa Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters (MAAC).

Layon  ng Senate Resolution no. 139 na mabawasan ang tax evasion at tax avoidance.

Positibo si Finance Secretary Ralph Recto sa buong pagpapatupad ng MAAC, at iginiit na malaki ang papel nito sa pagtaas ng revenue capacity ng Pilipinas upang matugunan ang lumalaking pangangailangan.

“We are very glad to finally have the MAAC in full force in the Philippines. To fund our people’s growing needs, we need more tools like this to enhance our revenue-generating capacity. This is definitely a crucial weapon in our arsenal to fight tax evasion that ultimately denies every Filipino’s right to have the quality public goods and services they deserve,” ayon sa Finance Chief.

Ang MACC ay maituturing na pinaka-komprehensibong multilateral instrument na available para sa lahat ng administrative cooperation sa pagitan ng mga signatories sa assessment at koleksyon ng mga buwis.

Ito ay sama-samang binuo ng Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) at ng Council of Europe noong 1988 at binago ang protocol noong 2010 na nilagdaan ng 147 na mga bansa at pinagtibay ng mahigit 100 na bansa.
