Ramon Ang nakatanggap ng prestihiyosong parangal mula sa French gov’t

Nakatanggap si San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president at CEO Ramon S. Ang ng prestihiyosong parangal mula sa French government para sa kanyang pambihirang kontribusyon sa pagpapaunlad sa relasyon ng France at Pilipinas.

Iginawad ni French Ambassador to the Philippines Michèle Boccoz, kay Ang ang Legion of Honor, na may ranggong Officier (Officer), ayon sa SMC sa isang pahayag noong Miyerkules.

“Thank you for the role you play as a businessman and as a philanthropist to strengthen those ties between France and the Philippines, and to promote friendship between our two peoples,” pasasalamat ni Boccoz kay Ang.

Binanggit din ng opisyal ang papel ng SMC executive sa paghahatid ng French humanitarian aid sa mga Filipino matapos ang pananalasa ng Super Typhoon Yolanda sa ilang bahagi ng bansa noong 2013. Gamit ang Philippine Airlines, isinakay ni Ang ang mga rescue worker, French doktor at tulong nang libre.

Binigyang-diin din ng Ambassador ang pagsisikap ni Ang na palakasin ang ugnayang pang-ekonomiya sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa sa pamamagitan ng mga proyektong pang-imprastraktura ng kanyang grupo.

“All of you here witnessing this ceremony today are well acquainted with Ramon Ang’s prestigious career and how under his leadership, San Miguel Corporation grew within a decade to become the Philippines’ top group in terms of market capitalization. As a businessman, sir, you highly contributed to the development of business partnership between our two countries,” saad ni Boccoz.

Sa kanyang talumpati, nagpahayag naman ng pasasalamat si Ang para sa nasabing pagkilala.

“This recognition inspires me and my colleagues in San Miguel Corporation who I proudly share this with to work even harder to deliver a better future for all and uphold the common values that we stand for and live by,” saad niya.

“Amidst the pandemic, we have remained committed to dedicating our resources to building back better, through initiatives that will help boost our economic growth and improve the lives of many of our countrymen,” dagdag ng SMC CEO.

Nakatanggap din si Ang ng Asia CEO Awards’ Lifetime Contributor Award noong 2020 bilang pagkilala sa SMC na naghahatid ng isa sa pinakamalaking pagsisikap sa pagtugon ng pribadong sektor sa panahon ng pandemya.

Sinabi ni Ang na itutuloy niya ang malalaking proyekto sa imprastraktura, kabilang ang pagkumpleto ng Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), Skyway Stage 3, ang Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Elevated Extension project, at ang patuloy na MRT-7, upang masuportahan pagbangon ng ekonomiya ng bansa.
