PVL, DE BRITO MAGKATUWANG PARA SA FINAL LINEUP NG WOMEN’S NAT’L TEAM

MAKIKIPAGTULUNGAN ang Premier Volleyball League, na binigyan ng responsibilidad na piliin ang women’s national volleyball team ng Pilipinas, kay Brazilian Jorge Edson de Brito para kumpletuhin ang final lineup, saad ni PVL President Ricky Palou sa mga reporter sa 2024 All-Filipino Conference semifinal round.

Magiging mentor ng national team si De Brito, na ini-assign ng FIVB para mag-coach sa bansa, at may malakas na posisyon sa pagpili ng mga players para sa final lineup.

Ayon kay Palou, mayroon na sila 20-player na bubuo sa koponan  – na hindi pa pinapangalan – at hindi hinihintay pa nila si De Brito para kilatisin ang mga ito.

“We have a pool of 20 [players]. It’s not yet final because we’re waiting for coach [Jorge Edson Souza] De Brito to give us his inputs into the pool. But basically we came up with a list of 20 players while waiting for De Brito to look at it and see if he wants to make any changes or if he’s satisfied with it,” saad niya.

Binigyang-diin din ni Palou na rekomendado ng iba’t ibang coach ang 20-player list.

“We’ll sit down with De Brito, going to the recommendation of… Actually this pool was recommended by several coaches, they submitted it, they looked at it and we submitted it to De Brito for his comments. We’re waiting for his reply. We should be getting that in the next few days,” ani Palou.

Isang karangalan para sa PVL President ang bagong task na itinalaga sa kanila.

“We are honored that the Philippine National Volleyball Federation gave us the responsibility of handling the national team for women’s [volleyball]. They gave us the coaching staff, and we’re now discussing with the coaching staff who will compose the national team for the women’s,” ayon kay Palou.

Magsisimula ang mandato ng PVL sa Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Women na iho-host ng bansa sa huling bahagi ng buwang ito. RON TOLENTINO
