PITX NAKIPAGTULUNGAN SA LTO; MGA TSUPER ISINALANG SA DRUG TEST (2 positibo sa droga, lisensiya kinumpiska)

NAGSAGAWA ang Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), sa pamamagitan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO), ng random drug testing para sa mga driver sa PITX noong Huwebes, upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero sa loob at labas ng terminal.

Umabot sa kabuuang 112 tsuper at kundoktor mula sa Saint Anthony of Padua, San Agustin Transport Inc., at Batman Service Transport Inc. bus companies ang sinuri para malaman kung ito’y ay gumagamit ng droga at alkohol.

Dalawa sa mga ito ang nagpositibo sa ilegal na droga, batay sa inilabas na resulta ng isinagawang drug test.

Dahil dito kinumpiska ng LTO ang driver’s license ng dalawang tsuper.

“We take safety seriously,” saad ni Jason Salvador, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Head ng PITX.

“Our passengers must feel safe and be safe at all times, whether they are in the landport or on the road. We expect our drivers to be 100% capable of doing their job and of keeping passengers safe. That is part of their responsibility.”

Bukod sa drug testing sa mga driver, nagsagawa rin ang LTO officers ng roadworthiness inspection sa public utility buses.

Bahagi ang parehong aktibidades ng malawakang kampanya na inilunsad ng landport noong 2020: PITX Safe.

“The campaign is not just about the health and safety measures we’re implementing at PITX against COVID-19. It is also about our commitment to helping promote and ensure road safety for all, PITX passengers or not,” paliwanag ni Mr. Salvador.

Ginawa ang random drug testing at roadworthiness inspection alinsunod sa Republic Act 10586, na parurusahan ang mga driver na nasa ilalim ng impluwensya ng alkohol, ilegal na droga, at iba pa.

Ito’y bilang bahagi na rin ng pagdiriwang sa National Road Safety Month ngayong Mayo.
