Pinakamataas na urban vertical farm sa Metro Manila inilunsad sa Navotas

Pinangunahan ni Navotas Congressman John Rey Tiangco, tagapangulo ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP)-Navotas City Council,  at Simon Villalon, pangulo ng Good Greens and Co.  ang pagpapasinaya sa inilunsad na NavotaAs Homes 1-Tanza, ang pinakamataas na urban vertical farm sa Metro Manila. Inilunsad sa Navotas ang pinakamataas na urban vertical farm sa Metro Manila upang magkaroon ng sapat at maipagpapatuloy na pagkukunan ng pagkain ang mga Navoteño bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Scouting Month ngayong Oktubre.

Pinangunahan nina Congressman John Rey Tiangco, tagapangulo ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP)-Navotas City Council,  at Simon Villalon, pangulo ng Good Greens and Co.  ang paglulunsad sa NavotaAs Homes 1-Tanza.

 “This pandemic made us see the need for sufficient and sustainable source of food. We hope this urban vertical farm will help us provide inexpensive healthy and organic produce to our constituents,” ani  Tiangco. 

“Navotas is one of the smallest cities in terms of land area. This is why vertical farming is the most apt for us as it maximizes our limited space,” patuloy ng mambabatas.

Tampok sa nasabint taniman ang apat na tower greenhouses, na ang pagpapagawa ay pinondohan ng BSP-Navotas at Good Greens habang galing sa pamahalaang lungsod ang 500 metro kwadradong lupain para sa proyekto.

“We have also secured the Department of Agriculture’s commitment to contribute for the construction of eight more towers,” ani Tiangco.

Ang Good Greens ang mamamahala sa farm upang umani ng high-value crops buong taon sa pamamagitan ng aeroponics.  Magkakaloob din sila ng learning opportunities para sa mga scouts para makapagtanim, magamit ang kanilang teknolohiya at umani.

“Activities of the BSP-Navotas have been suspended because of COVID-19 but we endeavour to continue the mission of educating our young scouts,” ani Tiangco.
