Pinag-iisipan na ni Marcos… BIGAS IMBES CASH SA 4Ps BENIFICIARIES – DA

Seryosong pinag-iisipan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na imbes na pera, bigas na lang ang ibibigay sa mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Ito ang ibinunyag ni Department of Agriculture (DA) Usec. Roger Navarro sa isang press conference matapos ang nangyaring pagpupulong sa pagitan ng mga agriculture officials at ng Pangulo sa Malacañang kahapon.

“It was suggested in the meeting that we have the 4Ps. For example, for DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development), we told the President if we can convert the 4Ps in terms of money, it should be in rice form, supplied by NFA (National Food Authority),” saad niya.

“The President is saying that we will consider the proposal, and we will take a look at how to implement this program,” dagdag pa ni Navarro.

Sabi ni Navarro, isa itong paraan para bumagal ang inflation sa bansa at bumaba ang presyo ng bigas.

Nasa 20 porsyento o mahigit 20 milyon ang mga Filipino ang tumatanggap ng 4Ps, ayon sa opisyal.

“These are 20% all over the country which are the vulnerable poor, and we’re giving them money, and unfortunately because that is not rice, they’re going to buy rice in the market price; and that puts pressure and inflationary in the market because they’re going to compete with the people who have money.

Ang 4Ps ay ang conditional cash transfer program na ipinapamahagi sa mga pamilyang mahihirap na bibigyan sila ng cash aid kapalit ng pagpasok sa eskwela ng mga bata.
