HINDI sususpendehin ang pagtaas ng kontribusyon ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) dahil mismong si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ay hindi tutol dito, ayon kay PhilHealth president at CEO Emmanuel Ledesma Jr.
Sa press briefing sa Pasig City, sinabi ni Ledesma na nakatanggap ng liham ang state health insurer mula sa Office of the President, na ipinadala ni Executive Secretary Lucas Brsamin, kung saan sinasabing walang tumutol sa nakatakdang pagtaas ng kontribusyon ng PhilHealth matapos ang mahabang pag-aaral.
Ayon sa hepe ng Philhealth, na hinihintay na lamang nila ang desisyon ng Pangulo matapos iapela ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa na suspendehin ang implementasyon ng contribution hike.
“It was clearly stated by PBBM that the premium increase will continue,” ani Ledesma.
Samantala, sinabi ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO), na nire-review pa ni Marcos ang naturang usapin.
“The review is still ongoing. The President wants to ensure that any increase in premium will substantially be much more in value in terms of benefits and coverage to Philhealth members,” saad ni PCO Chief Cheloy Garfil.
