PHILCYCLING COMPETITION SUMIPA NA SA CLARK

CLARK FREEPORT – Nasa 72 siklista ang nagpaligsahan sa unang araw ng Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (PhilCycling) competition na ginanap sa nasabing Freeport.

Isasagawa ang kompetisyon mula ngayong araw hanggang bukas.  Lumahok ang mga siklista mula sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Pilipinas sa iba’t ibang kategorya ng kompetisyon. Ilan sa mga kategorya na ito ay ang Individual Time Trial (ITT) for Women, ITT for Men, Criterium for Women, gayundin ang Criterium for Men.

Pinanguhan naman nina Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan at Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vivencio B. Dizon ang opening ceremony ng kompetisyon.  Kasama rin nila si BCDA Senior Vice President for Corporate Services Group Arrey Perez.

Masaya namang winelcome ni Gaerlan ang mga kalahok at binanggit ang Clark bilang premiere choice bilang sporting event mula ng gawaran ito bilang sports destination of the year sa loob ng tatlong taon.

Hilig din nina Gaerlan, Dizon at Perez ang pagbibisikleta na dumaraan din sa mga bike lane at mga ruta ng nasabing Freeport ‘pag mayroong libreng oras.

Samantala, pinasalamatan din ni Philippine National Cycling Competition Head Coach at Deputy Race Director Ednalyn Hualda ang CDC para maging matagumpay ang event sa gitna ng pandemya.

“We would like to thank President Gaerlan and President Vince Dizon for allowing us to be here to conduct our national trials. You don’t know how much it meant for the cycling community to have this event,” saad niya.  “We’re going to conduct another competition maybe in the latter part of this year and we want it to be in Clark. We hope that we will be allowed and supported again by CDC and BCDA,” dagdag niya.

Higit sa 60 partisipante ang inaasahang magtatagisan sa Day 2 ng  PhilCycling competition para sa ‘Race Road’ category para sa women at men sa susunod na araw.
