PDEA, FDA AT DDB, NAGKAPIT-BISIG PARA PALAKASIN ANG KAMPANYA KONTRA DROGA

NAGSANIB-PUWERSA ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) at Food and Drug Administration upang palakasin pa lalo ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno ang kampanya laban sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.

Nilagdaan nina PDEA Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva, DDB Chairperson Catalino Cuy at FDA Director General Eric ang memorandum of agreement (MOA) sa isang simpleng seremonya na isinagawa sa PDEA National Headquarters sa Quezon City.

Ayon kay Villanueva, layunin ng MOA na palakasin ang mandato ng mga ahensiya sa pagpaaptupad ng anti-drug campaign ng gobyerno.

“This memorandum of agreement among PDEA, DDB and FDA is timely because our respective agencies play a crucial role in the efficient and effective implementation of the National Drug Control Strategy formulated by the Dangerous Drugs Board, supports the standards and regulations adopted by the Food and Drug Administration, and strengthens PDEA’s enforcement, control, and prevention of the proliferation of regulated drugs,” Villanueva said in a statement.

Kabilang sa mga probisyon ng MOA, ang paglalaan ng resource speaker para sa anti-illegal drug programs, polisya, adbokasiya, information drive ng gobyerno laban sa ilegal na droga; pag-update ng listahan ng mga dangerous drugs at controlled precursors at essential chemicals upang matiyak na ang bawat ahensiya ay may record ng mga requirements para sa pagpoproseso ng pagpaparehistro sa lisensiya.

Magtutulungan din ang mga ahensiya sa pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon, intelligence gatherings, at pagkumpiska sa mga health products na may mga sangkap na ginagamit din sa paggawa ng ipinagbabawal na gamot.
