PAGSIBAK SA 35 PULIS-DAVAO, KINONDENA NI BASTE DUTERTE

KINONDENA ni Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte ang pagsibak sa 35 police personnel ng Davao City Police Office (DCPO), kabilang ang anim na station commander at city ditector, sa kanilang tungkulin.

“The move to relieve the 35 police personnel, supposedly in connection with an investigation into a buy-bust operation, appears to be an abuse of power from higher authorities,”  ayon sa official statement ni Duterte.

Matatandaan na naglabas ng kautusan si Police Regional Office-11 Director  Police Brig. Gen. Algire Martinez noong Biyernes, para i-relieve ang 11 DCPO station commanders, deputies at  23 non-commissioned officers na epektibo noong Mayo 22.

Kabilang sa mga sinibak ay sina  city police director Police Col. Richard Bad-ang, Police Lt. Col. Ronald Lao, Police Major Rosario Aguilar, Police Major Jimmy Evangelista, Police Major Joenel Pederio, Police Major Noel Villahermosa, Police Major Jemuel Mamolang, Police Capt. Henry Calvo, Police Capt. Marlon Donquilab, at Police Capt. Jefferson Escasinas.

Itinalaga si PRO-11 Deputy Regional Director for Operations Police Col. Rolindo Suguilon bilang officer-in-charge sa DCPO. Nagtalaga rin ang PRO-11 ng officers-in-charge sa mga sinibak na commander station.

Ayon kay PRO 11 spokesperson Police Major Catherine dela Rey, sinibak ang nasabing mga pulis matapos ang rekomendasyon mula sa Regional Internal Affairs Service 11 alinsunod sa patuloy na imbestigasyon sa naganap na pagpatay sa pitong drug suspects sa magkakahiwalay na anti-drug operations.

“As the disciplinary authority, the regional director has command prerogative, so he approved the recommendation while there is an investigation,” ani Dela Rey.

Dagdag pa nito, na ang rekomendasyon ay walang kinalaman sa political at personal issues.

“If proven that the police officers had no administrative and operational involvement on the issue and the operatives followed police operational procedures, they can return to their position,” saad niya.

Ang mga sinibak na pulis ay kasalukuyang nasa Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (RPHAS).

Nanindigan si Baste na ang mga opisyal na idinawit sa patayan ay epektibo sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa siyudad, at gaya ng amang si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay ipinagtanggol ang anti-drug operations ng mga pulis.

“Furthermore, there is substantial evidence supporting the assertion that the buy-bust operations were conducted within the bounds of the law. Any insinuation of misconduct on their part is unfounded and unjust,” ani Baste.

Giit ni Baste, alinsunod sa  Republic Act 6975,ang mga alkalde ng Lungsod at Munisipyo ay dapat magsagawa ng pangangasiwa at kontrol sa pagpapatakbo sa mga yunit ng PNP sa kani-kanilang hurisdiksyon.

“I oppose any efforts to undermine the hard-earned trust between our community and law enforcement. These recent developments serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of unchecked authority. I call for transparency and accountability in handling this matter and for the immediate reinstatement of the unfairly relieved officers,” wika ni Baste.
