P6.25-B ILLEGAL NA DROGA SINUNOG

Hawak nina Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director-General Wilkins Villanueva, Dangerous Drug Board Chairperson Catalino Cuy at iba pang mga opisyales ang ilang plastic na naglalaman ng shabu na kabilang sa P6.25 bilyon illegal na droga na sinunog sa Integrated Waste Management Inc. sa Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires sa lalawigan ng Cavite. Alinsunod ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa agarang pagsira sa mga nakukumpiskang droga. (DANILO ECITO)

SINUNOG ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang 1,394 kilo o P6.25 bilyong halaga ng nakumpiskang ilegal na droga sa lalawigan ng Cavite bilang pagtalima sa kautusan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na wasakin ang mga kontrabando para maiwasan ang pagre-recycle at pagbebenta ng mga tiwaling indibidwal.

Ayon kay PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva, mayroon pang higit na 1,500 kilogram ng ilegal na droga ang kanilang sisirain sa Nobyembre 26.

“Mayroon na lang po tayong natitirang 1,529 kilograms [na illegal na droga]. Ito ay susunugin natin by November 26, next month, at kapag natapos po ito, zero zero ang inventory ng PDEA,”  sambit ni Villanueva sa kanyang talumpati sa ginanap na pagwasak ng ilegal na droga sa Integrated Waste Management, Inc. sa Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires City.

Ayon sa kanilang record, winasak ng PDEA ang mga sumusunod na ilegal na droga kasama ang tinatayang halaga nito:

Dagdag ni Villanueva na ang ilegal na droga ang winasak na ilegal na droga ay nasabat sa iba’t ibang anti-drug operation sa buong bansa at inisyuhan na ng court orders para sirain.

I have already brought up the matter with Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra and sought his guidance and assistance in order to speed up the issuance of court orders that will authorize PDEA to destroy seized illegal drugs,” sabi ni Villanueva.

“Through Secretary Guevarra’s intercession, the handling prosecutors of the pending drug cases will have the concurrence to assist PDEA to file appropriate motions in various courts.  While some motions were filed, PDEA still needs the concurrence to the motion to conduct ocular inspections, taking of representative samples and eventual issuance of court order for the destruction of illegal drugs in drug cases that are pending in courts,” ayon pa kay Villanueva.
