Nagsimula na ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas sa pagbabakuna sa A4 priority group o essential workers, nitong Lunes.
Nasa 400 mga residente at nagtatrabaho sa lungsod ang nabakunahan na sa Navotas Fish Port Complex. 200 sa mga ito ay naka-iskedyul ng kanilang pagpapabakuna kabilang ang mga tauhan ng Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), fish porters, at registered fisherfolks. 200 naman mula sa A1-A4 priority groups ang pinayagang mag walk in.
“We need to inoculate essential workers to protect them from the virus and ensure that they are healthy and fit to do their jobs and livelihood. They do not just work to provide for their families; they also contribute in rebuilding our economy,” ani Mayor Toby Tiangco.
“The vaccine will also minimize the chances of these workers bringing the virus to their loved ones. Keeping them and their families safe is one of our strategies in ending this pandemic,” dagdag niya.
Nauna rito, sa celebration ng Labor Day at instruction ng Department of Labor and Employment, 50 Navoteño essential workers ang nabigyan ng kanilang unang shot ng CoronaVac. Apat sa kanila ay natanggap na ang kanilang second dose.
“We understand that vaccines are limited. We hope to get more vaccines so we could continue providing protection to other members of the A4 priority group, many of whom want to be vaccinated,” sabi pa ni Tiangco.
Hanggang June 5, 42,752 mga residente at nagtatrabaho sa lungsod ang nakatanggap ng kanilang unang bakuna.
Sa kabilang banda, 11,705 ang nakakumpleto ng kanilang ikalwang doses ng bakuna. 960 dito ang frontliners, 4,088 ang senior citizens, 6,651 ang persons with comorbidities, at apat ang essential workers.
