MICHAEL YANG, 5 PHARMALLY OFFICIALS, IPINAARESTO NG SENADO

IPINAG-UTOS na ng Senado ang pag-aresto sa dating Presidential economic adviser at Chinese businessman na si Michael Yang dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa diumanoy maanomalyang kontrata sa pagbili ng Personal Protective Equipment laban sa COVID-19.

Sa motion ni Senadora Risa Hontiveros, inaksyunan ng Blue Ribbon committee sa pamumuno ni Senador Richard Gordon ang pag-iisyu ng warrant of arrest laban kay Yang dahil na-cite for contempt matapos  tatlong beses na siyang hindi dumalo sa pagdinig ng komite.

“So the motion to cite in contempt…it has already been approved. There were no objections and as directed, the director general will send formally to the Senate President and the process should start to make sure that a warrant of arrest is issued. That the [Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms] be asked to formally serve it to all law enforcement authorities and they be made aware that there is such a warrant of arrest issued by the Senate of the Republic of the Philippines, part of the co-equal branch of the government,” ayon kay Senador Gordon.

Sinang-ayunan naman ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III ang rekumendasyon ng Blue Ribbon at nakatakda nyang pirmahan ito para maisyu sa mga arresting officer.

Nauna rito, nag-isyu na ang Blue Ribbon ng dalawang subpoenas kay Yang para humarap sa hearing at magbigay ng paliwanag sa mga tanong kaugnay ng  koneksyon nya sa Pharmally Pharmaecuetical Corp., maliit at bagong kompanya na nakakuha ng bilyun-bilyong kontrata sa pagbili ng PPEs.

Bukod kay Yang, ipinaaresto na rin ang limang opisyal ng Pharmally Pharmaceutical Company na nakakopo ng P8.7B na kontrata ng face masks at face shields sa Department of Budget and Management-Procurement Service(DBM-PS) noong 2020 hanggang 2021.

Kinabibilangan ito nina Mohit Dargani, Twinkle Dargani, Linconn Ong, Krizle Grace Mago at Justine Garado.

Base sa impormasyon ng Blue Ribbon Director General Rodolfo Quimbo, nakalabas na ng Pilipinas si Mohit Dargani noong  August 18 at nagtungo sa Dubai.

Dumalo naman virtually sa hearing ang  President and Chairman ng Pharmally Pharmaceutical na si Huang Tzu Yen na kasalukuyang nasa Singapore.

Hinirit ni Senadora Imee Marcos sa FDA, BIR, BOC, DBM-PS na magsumite ng mga dokumento ang 10 kumpanya na nakakopo ng bilyun-bilyong pisong kontrata sa DOH at DBM-PS.

Bukod sa Pharmally, kabilang din ang Phil. Pharmawealth Inc., Nikka Trading, Bowman Technologies, Sunwest Con and Dev. Corp, Hafid N Erasmus Corp., Phil. Blue Cross, Xuzhou Construction Machinery group Wen Hua Dev’t Industrial Company Ltd. At Chunsen Company Ltd.

“May I herewith request the license to operate, certificate of product registration, certificate of registration as importer issued by the Accreditation Management Office, and the import declaration for medical equipment(RT-PCR kits, RT-PCR machines, face masks, face shields, and Personal Protective Equipment,” ayon kay Marcos. 

Inungkat naman ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, ang mga kayamanan ni dating DBM-PS Exec. Dir. Christopher Lloyd Lao at hiniling na magsumite sa Seando ng kanyang  SALN simula noong 2019 hanggang 2021 nang mag-resign sya sa gobyerno. Base sa inisyal na impormasyon, si Lao ay may condo unit sa San Juan city, may cash assets na P15M at dollar account na halagang $128,000.
