MGA KUMALAS SA CPP-NPA-NDF WELCOME SA GOBYERNO

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – The Quezon government welcomed the surrender of three Milisyang Bayan members and four members of the Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad as well as the withdrawal of support of six CPP-NPA-NDF supporters in Catanauan and San Franciso, Quezon from Wednesday to Friday, August 2-4.

The Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Catanauan and San Francisco, together with the 85th Infantry “Sandiwa” Battalion, Philippine Army, Catanauan PNP, and San Francisco PNP facilitated the yielding of the said personalities who are residents of barangay San Jose (Anyao) as well as the withdrawal of support of one CPP-NPA-NDF supporter from the said barangay and five more from barangay Sto. Nino.

 In a statement, the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division, Philippine Army Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong attributed the recent consecutive surrenders and withdrawals of support to the successful collaboration between the security forces, the LGUs, and valued stakeholders in promoting peace and empowering communities to be resilient against the atrocities of the CPP-NPA-NDF. He also urged the remaining NPA members to surrender and avail the government benefits to help begin their lives anew with their families.
