HINDI makakadalo si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pagdinig ng House of Representatives Quad Committee bukas (Oktubre 22) kaugnay sa kanyang drug war.
Ayon sa abogado ng dating presidente na si Atty. Martin Delgra III, dating chairman ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), dumating si Duterte sa Davao City noong Oktubre 17 pero natanggap niya ang invitation letter makalipas lamang ng isang araw.
“Unfortunately, despite his keen intention to attend, my client respectfully manifests that he cannot attend the public hearing set on 22 October 2024. Aside from short notice given him, my client just arrived in Davao from Metro Manila last 17 October 2024. Considering his advanced age and the several engagements he had to attend, he is currently not feeling well and is in need of much rest,” mababasa sa liham.
Ayon pa sa liham, gusto ni Duterte na dumalo sa pagdinig pero mainam kung pagkatapos ng Nobyembre 1, 2024.
Iniimbestigahan ng quad committee ang pagkakaugnay ng illegal POGO operations sa kalakaran ng illegal na droga at extrajudicial killings na ipinatupad noong kasagsagan ng kampanya kontra droga ng nakaraang administrasyon.
