BALIK-PINAS na si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. makaraang dumalo sa trilateral summit kasama sina US President Joe Biden at Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Dumating si Marcos sa Manila alas-3:03 ng madaling araw. Ayon sa Pangulo, naging mabunga ang pakikipagpulong sa dalawang lider.
“During our meeting, we reaffirmed our commitment to a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific,” wika niya.
“We are guided by our shared values of democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and gender equality. We explored ways of enhancing our cooperation in a number of areas of mutual concern, including in enhancing economic resilience and security, promoting inclusive growth and development, addressing climate change and maritime cooperation,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Aniya pa, nangako ang US at Japan ng suporta para sa infrastructure development at connectivity sa Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, implementasyon ng Open Radio Access Network, workforce development para sa semiconductor industry, capacity building sa mapayapang paggamit ng nuclear energy, at membership ng bansa sa Minerals Security Partnership Forum.
“I took the opportunity to update President Biden and Prime Minister Kishida on the latest developments in the South China Sea, including the recent incident at Ayungin Shoal,” sambit pa ni Marcos.
