MAG-INANG PINAY WRESTLERS, GOLD AT BRONZE SA CAMBODIA SEAGAMES

ISANG araw matapos ang Mother’s Day, nag-regalo ng ginto  si Cristina Villanueva Vergara, tinaguriang wrestling mom ng Pilipinas sa final day ng weestling competitions ng 32nd Southeast Asian Games Cambodia 2023 sa Chroy Changvar Center Hall sa Phnom Penh.

Umeksena rin ang kanyang anak na si Cathlyn Gee na pumitas ng bronze para sa spectacular na Ph mother and daughter wrestling show sa Phnom Penh..

Ang 44-anyos  retired Philippine Navy personnel na si Vergara ay dinomina ang women’s freestyle 65 kg category sa pagbuno kay Sambat Vennak ng Cambodia via 12-2 techniical superiority.

  ” I never thought I can still do it” wika ni Vergara na bumalik sa wrestling action matapos siyang magretiro noong pagkatapos ng  2007 SEAGames sa Thailand.Gold medalist siya noong 2003 Vietnam SEAG at 2005 Manila SEAG.

   Di man napantayan ng kanyang anak na si Cathlyn,

makinang na rin ang bronze medal nito sa women’s freestyle 59 kg na pinagreynahan ng Vietnamese bet kasunod ang Thailand.

  “I keep pushing her to train smart and harder because she has the opportunity to excel.She can still go to the Olympics,she is still young”, pahayag ng proud mother sa kanyang 18 anyos na anak  na isang first year BS Nutrition student ng Univeesity of Santo Tomas.

   ” It’s a great achievement in our part after coming out with no gold medal in the last Vietnam Games,” wika ni Wrestling Association of the Philippines president Alvin Aguilar.” I’m really happy that they delivered”
