Kotse tumakas habang tinitiketan sa EDSA Busway… ‘I APOLOGIZE’ – CHIZ ESCUDERO

NAG-SORRY sa publiko at sa kapwa mga senador si Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero nitong Biyernes matapos mahuli ang kanyang sasakyan vehicle na may protocol plate par asa mga senador nitong Abril 11 sa pagdaan sa EDSA Busway.

Subalit, nilinaw niyang hindi niya ginagamit ang protocol license plate at gamit umano ng “driver of a family member” ang kanyang sasakyan nang masita ito.

“In the morning of 11 April 2024, a vehicle bearing protocol license plates issued to me was apprehended by the MMDA for improperly using the bus lane on Edsa. The use of the protocol plate was unauthorized, as the vehicle was being driven by the driver of a family member,” pahayag ni Escudero.

“I do not personally use the protocol license plates issued to me, and forthwith the protocol plates involved in the incident will be surrendered to the [Land Transportation Office],” dagdag niya.

Dahil sa insidente, inihayag ni Escudero na inatasan niya ang kanyang driver na humarap sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) at tumalima sa show-cause order na inisyu sa kanya at harapin ang reklamo dahil sa kanyang paglabag.

“I apologize to the public and my colleagues in the Senate for this oversight. Moving forward, I commit to ensure that the protocol plates entrusted to me are used appropriately, consistent with the provisions of Executive Order No. 56, s. 2024,” aniya, na tinutukoy ang pinakabagong kautusan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na naglilimita sa paglalabas ng protocol plates sa government officials.

Huwebes ng umaga nang mahuli ng traffic authorities ang mga sasakyang may “7” at “8” protocol license plates dahil sa pagdaan sa EDSA busway. Subalit, tumakas ang violators, kabilang ang sasakyan na may “7” protocol plate.
