KILLER-RAPIST NA SI EX-MAYOR ANTONIO SANCHEZ, PUMANAW NA

MAYNILA – Pumanaw na ang dating Calauan, Laguna mayor na si Antonio Sanchez, ayon sa Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) ngayong Sabado ng umaga.

Napag-alaman mula kay Bucor spokesman Gabriel Chaclag, natagpuang walang malay si Sanchez sa New Bilibid Prison at isinugod sa National Bilibid Prison Hospital at idineklara ring dead on arrival

 “Today at about 7am, PDL Antonio Sanchez was found unresponsive at his cell. He was brought to the NBP Hospital by his cell mates and was attended to by medical staff. He was declared DOA and subject for autopsy as per procedure on sudden deaths,” ayon kay Chaclag.

Nahatulan si Sanchez at ang kaniyang mga tauhan sa 1993 rape-slay ng estudyante ng UPLB na si Eileen Sarmenta at sa torture-killing sa kaniyang kasamahan na si Allan Gomez.

Dagdag pa ng BuCor spokesman, huling nakita si Sanchez noong Biyernes ng gabi habang ito’y papatulog na. “When his cell mates woke him up this morning, he was unresponsive. There is no sign of foul play,”  ani ni Chaclag.

Ayon pa kay Chaclag, marami ng iniindang sakit ang convicted mayor tulad ng chronic kidney disease, hypertention, recurring gastroenteritis, problema sa prostrate at asthma.

“His next of kin was also informed,” dagdag pa ni Chaclag.

Muntik na siyang makalabas ng kulungan noong 2019 dahil sa Good Conduct Time Allowance, pero iginiit ni DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra na hanggang sa kaniyang pagkamatay ay hindi siya kalipikadong lumabas ng kulungan.
