Napigilan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents ang planong pagtakas ng tatlong persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), kanilang si Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa, isang confessed drug dealer.
Sa statement na inilabas ng NBI, nakatanggap ng impormasyon ang hepe ng NBI-Security Management Section at kanyang executive officer noong Enero 13, na nagpaplanong tumakas sa detention facility kasama ang dalawang PDL sa pamamagitan ng pagdaan sa butas ng exhaust fan sa kisame.
Dahil dito agad nagsagawa ng inspeksyon sa piitan nang gabi ring iyon.
“In one of the cells of the jail, the raiding team of Agents observed a deformed exhaust fan, which, when [removed], exposed a hole fit for a detainee to escape,” ayon sa NBI.
Ayon kay NBI officer in charge Director Eric Distor, mas hihigpitan ang security measures sa piitan dahil sa naturang insidente.
“In view of this incident, security measures at the jail has since been tightened with regular inspection of all jail facilities,” bahagi niya.
Pinuri ni Distor ang kanyang bagong hepe at executive officer sa pagkakapurnada ng pagtakas ng tatlong detainee.
