KAPAL NG MUKHA NG PHILHEALTH! – IMEE MARCOS (Matapos ang nakawan, dagdag-kontribusyon sa ahensiya sa 2021, tuloy!)

Inupakan ni Senator Imee Marcos ang timing ng napipintong taas kontribusyon ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) sa 2021.

Ayon kay Marcos, ‘makapal ang mukha’ ng PhilHealth para taasan ang singil ng kontribusyon ng mga miyembro nito sa kabila ng kinakaharap na alegasyon ng korapsyon ng naturang ahensiya.

“Ang PhilHealth, sa kabila ng katakot-takot na scam diyan, may gana pang magtaas ng premium. Hello?!” dagdag pa niya.

Ayon sa PhilHealth, kailangan nilang taasan ang kontribusyon ng kanilang 110 milyon na miyembro dahil wala na silang sapat na pondo para  ipatupad ang Universal Healthcare Law.

Naglabas naman ng pahayag si Marcos sa pamamagitan ng Facebook upang ipaliwanag ang kanyang reaksyon sa kontrobersiyal na taas kontribusyon ng PhilHealth.

 “I know that the increase in PhilHealth contributions is consonant to the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law (UHC). Very much like the earlier announcement of increase in SSS contributions beginning 2021, the timing of these increases coincides with a period of overwhelming economic difficulty due to the pandemic.”

Saad pa niya na dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic, ay mas kailangan ng mga tao ang serbisyo ng PhilHealth.

“It is cruel to increase contributions at this time and said it is nothing but an “unusual punishment” to the members,” ayon kay Marcos.

“What is essential immediately is for PhilHealth to regain the confidence and trust of the public. PhilHealth’s reputation has been eroded from recent scandals and it has to resolve the issues that continue to hound the institution,” dagdag pa niya.
