Dapat talakayin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa kanyang paparating na State of the Nation Adreess (SONA) kung papaano magkakaroon ng pang matagalang solusyon kaugnay sa water shortage at El Ñino na malaking banta ngayon sa bansa.
“Huwag puro Maharlika Investment Fund,” giit ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Koko Pimentel III.
Binigyang-diin ni Pimentel na kailangan matugunan agad ang krisis sa tubig at malunasan ang epekto ng El Niño, partukular sa agricultural productivity at mga magsasaka.
“The adverse effects of water shortage and El Niño have far-reaching consequences on various sectors of the economy. Past droughts and water crises have caused a significant toll on the economy, business, agriculture, power generation, public health, and natural resources, among others,” saad ni Pimentel.
Umapela rin ang naturang senador sa publiko na magtipid sa tubig at kuryente ngayong nasa kritikal na sitwasyon.
“These problems need immediate attention and concerted efforts from both the government and the public. I implore each of us to conserve water,” saad niya.
