NAVOTAS NANALO NG MULTIPLE AWARDS SA EXEMPLARY GOVERNANCE

NAG-UWI ng maraming parangal ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas sa 2022 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards ng Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR).

Tumanggap ang Navotas ng Ideal Level of Functionality sa Local Council para sa Protection of Children and Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children; High Functionality mark para sa Anti-Drug Abuse Council, at Functional rating para sa Peace and Order Council.

Kinilala din ang lungsod bilang Child-Friendly Local Government; top performer sa Informal Settler Families Cluster para sa Manila Bay Clean-Up Rehabilitation and Preservation Program (MBCRPP); at highly compliant LGU sa MBCRPP.

Nakuha din ng Navotas ang unang puwesto sa Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA).

“We are honored and grateful for the appreciation of our work. We also thank each and every Navoteño for their continued support to the city government,” ani Mayor John Rey Tiangco.

“These awards only inspire us to keep improving our governance and providing better service to our people in order to improve their lives,” dagdag niya.

Tinanggap ni Tiangco ang awards kasama si City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Rufino M. Serrano at Navotas DILG OIC Director Jenifer G. Galorport.

Naroon din sina Dr. Vonne Villanueva, Special Assistant to the Navotas Anti-Drug Abuse Council chairperson and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer; Cheney Gabriel, head of the City Agriculture Office; at Engr. Janice Lacsamana, head of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office.

Ang Urban Governance Exemplar Awards ay pormal na kinikilala ang contributions at accomplishments ng local government units (LGUs) sa Metro Manila.

Ang mga nanalo ay desisyunan ng DILG sa pamamagitan ng regional assessment at validation ng iba’t ibang programa at proyekto ng mga LGU.

Samantala, nasungkit din ng Navotas ang pinakamataas na pagkilala at pagkakamit bilang Hall of Famer sa Local Revenue Generation.

Ayon kay Mayor Tiangco, sila ang kauna-unahang lungsod na nabigyan ng ganitong pagkilala ng Bureau of Local Government Finance.

Malaking parte aniya ng award na ito ay dahil sa suporta ng mga mamamayan sa maaga o on time na pagbabayad ng buwis. Ang pondo namang nakalap ang ginagamit para sa mga serbisyo at programang inihahandog ng pamahalaang lungsod sa mga Navoteño.
