AMERIKANO ARESTADO SA P19-M COCAINE SA NAIA

ARESTADO ang isang Amerikano sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 matapos makompiskahan ng mahigit sa P19 milyon halaga ng cocaine nitong nakaraang Setyembre 27.

Ang suspek na si Stephen Jozeph Szuhar, 75, na dumating sa Pilipinas mula Sao Paolo, Brazil sakay ng connecting Quatar Airways flight ay inaresto dakong alas-8:00 ng gabi.

Ayon kay Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco, nakatanggap ang mga operatiba ng BI ng tip mula sa foreign counterparts kaugnay sa suspicious travel ni Szuhar kaya naharang siya ng NAIA Drug Interdiction Task Group.

“Our agents at the immigration arrival counters identified Szuhar. After which, agents of the task group monitored him as he collected his luggage and proceeded to the Customs area, where it was detected by canines to be containing illegal narcotics,” saad  ni Tansingco.

Inispeksyon ng Customs at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang bagahe ni Zsuhar na may lamang 3.7 kilograms ng cocaine, na may halagang P19.610 milyon.

Nakakulong na ngayon si Szuhar sa PDEA Custodial Jail Facility na nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
