Maari na namang ma-enjoy ng mga Pinoy ang long weekend matapos ideklara ng Malacañang ang February 9, 2024 (Biyernes) na special non-working holiday sa buong bansa kaugnay sa selebrasyon ng Chinese New Year.
Sa Proclamation No. 453 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., nakasaad na, ”the declaration of 09 February 2024, Friday, as an additional special non-working day throughout the country will give the people the full opportunity to celebrate the Chinese New Year and enable our countrymen to avail of the benefits of a longer weekend.”
Nakasaad din sa proklamasyon na inaatasan ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na maglabas ng kaukulang circular kaugnay sa pagpapatupad ng kautusan para sa pribadong sektor.
