INATASAN ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) na ikonsidera ang pagbabalik sa enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) ang Metro Manila.
Ito’y matapos manawagan ang mga medical frontliner sa pamahalaang Duterte na ibalik sa ECQ ang Metro Manila mula Agosto 1 hanggang 15 dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections sa National Capital Region.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has heard the concerns of the medical community and the Chief Executive has directed the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases to act on these concerns immediately,” wika ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Kahapon nga lang ay umapela si Dr. Mario Panaligan, presidente ng Philippine College of Physicians, na ibalik sa ECQ ang Metro Manila dahil pagod na ang mga medical professionals.
“We propose that the two-week ECQ be used as a time out to refine our pandemic control strategies,” panawagan ni Panaligan.
