DUTERTE, PUTIN NAGKASUNDO PARA SA SUPPLY NG SPUTNIK V

Nagkausap na sa telepono sina Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Russian President Vladmir Putin.

Ayon sa Palasyo, naging produktibo ang pag-uusap ng dalawang lider.

Nagkaisa ang dalawang lider na magtulungan para tugunan ang pandemya sa COVID-19.

“President Duterte and President Putin reaffirmed their shared commitment to further enhance cooperation as the Philippines and Russia commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year and vowed to cooperate in the fight against COVID-19,” pahayag ng Palasyo.

Nagpasalamat ang Pangulo kay Putin dahil sa pangako ng Russia na tulungan ang Pilipinas.

“The President thanked President Putin for Russia’s commitment to bolster cooperation in various areas, including in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic,” pahayag ng Palasyo.

Pinag-usapan ng dalawang lider ang global at regional vaccine landscapes, kung saan sinabi ni Putin na dapat na maipamahagi sa ibang bansa ang bakuna kontra COVID-19 na gawa ng Sputnik V ng Russia.

Nag-order na ang Pilipinas ng 20,000,000 doses ng Sputnik V.

“President Duterte and President Putin underscored the need for continuing and strengthened collaboration to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic,” pahayag ng Palasyo.

Napag-usapan din ng dalawang lider ang defense at security cooperation sa pamamagitan ng palitan ng defense, intelligence at military agencies.

Pinag-usapan din ng dalawa ang pagbubukas ng oportunidad sa trade at investments, agriculture at energy development.

Muli ring inimbitahan ni Pangulong Duterte si Putin na bumisita sa bansa.

“President Duterte also reiterated his invitation for President Putin to visit the Philippines as soon as circumstances allow, which President Putin welcomed,” pahayag ng Palasyo.

Kasama ng Pangulo sa telesummit sina Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. at Senator Cristopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.

Naganap ang pag-uusap ng dalawang lider bandang 4:20, Martes ng hapon (Abril 13).

Tumagal ang pag-uusap ng 30 minuto.
