DTI reinforces MSME commitment with successful Kadiwa ng Pangulo launch in Bay, Laguna

Bay, Laguna—The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has reaffirmed its commitment to support the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the successful launch of Kadiwa ng Pangulo on January 31, 2025. This initiative provides an important platform for local producers to facilitate access to fresh, high-quality, and affordable goods.

The Kadiwa ng Pangulo program aims to create an innovative linkage of MSMEs— from agriculture to manufacturing, retail, and services—directly with the  consumers. By improving distribution channels, it enables MSMEs to maximize  their earnings, driving economic growth and creating long-term opportunities.

Key representatives from government agencies and local offices joined the event, including the Bay Municipal Administrator Atty. Joanna Patricia Padrid, Department of Interior and Local Government Representative Jayson Chavez, Department of Agriculture-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division Representatives Genielle Regalado and Johnmel Bonquil, Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Program Coordinating Office Representative Josephine Braganza, DTI Representative Avegail Agojo, SK Federation Chairman Alfred Nean Canovas, and other municipal leaders.

Local agricultural MSMEs from various local associations and groups and farmers from Bay showcased their products, which contributed to the event’s overall success.

The DTI remains committed to building a resilient MSME sector. Through initiatives like Kadiwa ng Pangulo, the agency continues its mission to foster sustainable business growth, promote small enterprises, and drive regional economic progress.

Apart from the Kadiwa ng Pangulo, the DTI supports MSMEs through training, business linkage programs, and financial assistance to help them thrive in competitive markets. DTI-assisted businesses like the EFF Footwear Store from Liliw, Laguna, and Mywill Food Products from Calauan, Laguna have already benefited from these programs.

Both businesses have also participated in government-backed programs like Kapatid Mentor Me Program and One Town, One Product, which have been instrumental in their development.
