PINASALAMATAN ni Finance Secretary Ralph Recto ang House Appropriations Committee sa pag-endorso ng P33.75 billion budget ng Department of Finance (DOF) para sa fiscal year 2025.
Ayon kay Recto, prayoridad ng budget sa susunod na taon ang digitalization para sa episyenteng tax administration at public service.
“[O]ur proposed budget every year is always a faithful reflection of our strategic priorities under the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance. [They] are part and parcel of a larger effort to improve tax administration efficiency, deliver more responsive public service delivery, and provide economic prosperity for the Filipino people,” ayon kay Secretary Secretary Recto sa nakaraang panayam sa DOF budget committee briefings sa Kongreso.
Inisponsoran ni Sultan Kudarat Representative at Committee on Appropriations Vice Chair Horacio Suansing ang DOF budget sa plenaryo ng Kamara nitong Setyembre 16, 2024.
Sa ilalim ng panukalang budget ng DOF na P33.75 billion, mas mataas ito ng 20.8% kumpara sa 2024 GAA.
Ang P29 billion ay susuporta sa core operations ng DOF at mga priority programs nito habang pangungunahan naman ng Insurance Commission o IC, Bureau of Internal Revenue at Bureau of Customs ang Digitalization efforts. Ayon kay Suansing na sulit ang ibibigay na budget sa kagawaran dahil kapalit nito ay tinatayang nasa 17.68 billion pesos na kita para sa loob ng 2 araw lamang.
