CAYETANO DAPAT MANATILING SPEAKER

AABOT sa 202 miyembro ng House of Representatives ang kumpiyansa kay Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano na manatili bilang Speaker para sa nalalabing 18th Congress.

Ito ang nagpag-alaman ng Agila ng Bayan sa pamamagitan ng limang pahinang manifesto na sumusuporta kay Cayetano, na natanggap noong Linggo ng gabi.

Ang naturang dokumento na umikot sa silid ng 299-member ay may titulong “Manifesto of recommitment to the Filipino people and the leadership of Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.”

“In this [sic] trying times, as the nation is being wracked by an unprecedented public health and economic crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we reiterate our continued full and unequivocal support for Speaker Cayetano and the entire leadership of the House, and join the President in his desire to allow the membership to chart its own course in choosing those who would lead this chamber,” nakasaad sa manifesto.

“The burden of leadership comes with certain privileges, among which is the honor to represent our fellow citizens in matters of public importance. But with this also comes the challenge of living up to the high standards of our countrymen. And in this, we the members of the Duterte administration Super Majority Coalition in the 18th Congress, now come together and pledge our commitment to the continued leadership of Speaker Cayetano as we strive to always put the best interest of the Filipino ahead at all times,” dagdag pa nito.

Nakalakip din sa dokumento ang lagda ng 26 na matataas na lider sa Kamara kabilang sina House Majority Leader Ferdinand Romualdez, Minority Leader Bienvenido Abante, Deputy Speakers Aurelio Gonzales, Johnny Pimentel, L-Ray Villafuerte, Ferdinand Hernandez, Rodante Marcoleta at iba pa.

Ayon sa mapagkakatiwalaang source, ang 26 na ito ay kabilang sa 202 House members na nagpahayag ng susporta upang mapanatili kay Cayetano ang korona sa Mababang Kapulungan.

Matatandaang sa ilalim ng term-sharing agreement nina Cayetano at Lord Alan Velasco ay napagkasunduan na si Cayetano ay mauupo bilang Speaker ng kamara sa loob ng 15 buwan na nakatakda na sanang matapos sa susunod na buwan, habang papalitan naman siya ni Velasco sa nalalabi pang panahon ng 18th Congress.

‘Yun nga lang panatag at kumpiyansa ang 202 mambabatas sa naturang mama dahil alam nilang nasa tamang landas sila sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Cayetano.

Kumbaga, may asim pa si Cayetano para manatili bilang Speaker.
