BuCor, gov’t agencies magko-colab para sa reformation program

UPANG mapabuti ang reformation program para sa person deprived of liberty (PDLs) bago sila muling makabalik sa lipunan, palalakasin ng Bureau of Correction (BuCor) ang kolaborasyon sa iba’t ibang stakeholders at ahensiya ng gobyerno.

Ang strategic approach na ito ay binigyang-diin ni BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. habang inihahanda ng bureau ang iba’t ibang aktibidad para sa isang linggong selebrasyon ng National Corrections Consciousness Week simula bukas, na binigyang-diin ang pangako na patuloy na palalakasin ang umiiral na reformation programs para sa PDLs at ang pagpapakilala sa reintegration program.

“Although reintegration does not fall within our mandate which only includes safe keeping and reformation of PDLs, Catapang said that Bucor will introduce a program centered on behavior modification and therapeutic community, which are crucial in addressing the complex needs of PDLs to better prepare them for successful reintegration into society,” ayon kay Catapang.

Bukod pa ito sa reformation program na ipinatutupad sa loob ng corrections facilities na nakabatay sa moral and spiritual, education and training, work and livelihood, sports and recreation, health and welfare.

Binigyang-diin din ni Catapang ang kahalagahan ng pagpapalakas sa kolaborasyon sa iba pang ahensiya ng gobyerno, tulad ng Local Government Units; Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Education (DEPED), Department of Health (DOH) Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at iba pang stakeholder mula sa pribadong sektor.

“By working together with different partners that complement Bucor’s efforts in reforming PDLs, Bucor can leverage resources, expertise, and support to enhance its initiatives and can create a comprehensive support system to ensure a holistic approach to the rehabilitation and reintegration process of PDLs,” ayon kay Catapang.

Sa pagpapatuloy ng inobasyon at pagpapahusay sa mga programa nito, mabibigyang kapangyarihan ng BuCor ang mga PDLs na gumawa ng mga positibong pagbabago sa kanilang buhay at itaguyod ang mas magandang kinabukasan para sa kanilang sarili at kanilang mga komunidad, dagdag ni Catapang.

Samantala, ilang aktibidad ang ilalatag para sa selebrasyon ng NCWW kanilang ang isang thanksgiving mass na pangangasiwaan ni Fr. Jerry Orbos, pagbubukas ng BuCor Bazaar kung saan tampok ang mga produkto at paintings na gawa ng PDLs, job fair para sa PDLs, artistic painting, creative miniature contest, sportsfest, free grooming service for PDLs, isang Bible quiz, poster making at slogan making contest, feeding program, fishing competition at vertical gardening competition, legal at paralegal services.
