BI sa publiko: Umiiral pa rin ang travel restriction

IPINAALALA ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa publiko na nanatili pa rin ang travel restriction dahil sa banta ng coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19.

Sa isang pahayag, muling iginiit ni BI Commissioner na hindi pa rin pinapayagan ang mga dayuhang turista sa bansa.

“Generally speaking, only Filipinos, their spouse and minor children are allowed to enter the country holding tourist visas,” ani ni Morente.

Sa kasalukuyang restrictions, pinapayagan din ang mga foreign children na may special needs ng Filipinos, foreign parent o menr de dedad na mga Pilipino at kanilang mga magulang na Pinoy na mayroong Pilipinong anak na makapasok ang mga ito sa bansa kung mayroon silang special needs.

Ipinaalala rin ni Morente sa mga elligible na pumasok sa bansa ay kailangang kumuha ng entry visa mula sa Philippine embassies o consulates bago sila bumiyahe.

“We have encountered instances when spouses of Filipinos who previously enjoyed visa-free privileges try to enter the country under the same manner,” dagdag ni Morente.

 Maalalang noong Marso, pansamantalang sinuspindi ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang visa-free privileges kabilang na ang visa waiver arrangements. 

Sa ngayon ang 157 na bansang nakikinabang sa visa-free privileges ay kailangan nang kumuha ng entry visas sa mga foreign posts bago makapasok sa Pilipinas.

Kasabay nito, may paalala rin si Morente sa publiko kaugnay ng departure travel restrictions.

Iginiit nitong ang mga foreign nationals, overseas Filipino workers, permanent visa holders, mga estudyanteng naka-enroll sa ibang bansa at ang mga participants sa exchange visitor programs at ang mga bumibiyahe dahil sa essential reasons lamang ang papayagang makalabas ng bansa.

Ang essential travel ayon kay Morente ay ang immediate business, medical emergency at iba pang humanitarian reasons.

Papayagan ang mga itong umalis kapag mayroon silang sapat na supporting documents. 

“Visiting relatives abroad for a vacation is still not considered under essential travel. These restrictions were set by the IATF to protect everyone from the threat of Covid-19. 

If your travel is non-essential, it is best to defer it when the pandemic has subsided,” dagdag ni Morente.
