BAGYONG ROLLY, NAG-LANDFALL SA CATANDUANES; SIGNAL NO 5 SA 3 PROBINSIYA

NAG-LANDFALL na sa Bato, Catanduanes nitong Linggo ng umaga ang super typhoon Rolly na may dalang matindi at mapaminsalang hangin at malakas na pagbuhos ng ulan sa ilang lugar sa Pilipinas.

Ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), alas-4:50 nitong madaling araw nang tumama sa lupa ang mata ng bagyo sa munisapalidad ng Catanduanes, taglay ang lakas ng hangin na 225 kilometers pero hour (kph) na may bugsong 280 kph, habang patuloy na kumikilos sa kanluran timog-kanluran ng 25kph.

“After traversing the southern portion of Catanduanes, the center of the typhoon will cross Lagonoy Gulf and make landfall over the southern portion of Camarines Sur or the northern portion of Albay this morning.,” saad ng PAGASA.

“Afterwards, the center will cross the Camarines Provinces before heading towards Calabarzon this afternoon. “Rolly” is forecast to exit the mainland Luzon landmass and emerge over the Philippine Sea tomorrow early morning,” dagdag pa nito.

Itinaas na sa Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal number 5 ang Catanduanes, Albay at silangang bahagu ng Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Presentacion, Garchitorena, Lagonoy, Tinambac, Calabanga, Siruma, Tigaon, Bombon, Magarao, Camaligan, Gainza, Canaman, Milaor, Naga City, Minalabac, Balatan, Bula, Pili, Ocampo, Goa, San Jose, Sagnay, Buhi, Iriga City, Baao, Nabua, Bato).

Ibinababala rin ng PAGASA ang malakas na hangin na may 220 kph na inaasahan sa mga lugar sa loob ng 12 oras.

Nagbabala rin ang pag-asa ng posibleng storm surges, flash floods at landslides at kinakailangang ilikas ang mga residente na nasa mababang lugar at coastal areas.

Nagbabala rin ang weather bureau sa mga operators at crew ng vessel na huwag pumalaot sa dagat dahil sa posibleng pagtaas ng mga alon gawa ng super typhoon.

“Today, rough to phenomenal seas (2.5 to 16.0 m) will be experienced over the seaboard of areas where TCWS is in effect and rough to very rough seas (2.5 to 5.0 m) over the remaining seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Eastern Visayas (that are not under TCWS) and Caraga. Sea travel is risky for all types of seacrafts over these waters, especially those under TCWS,” babala ng PAGASA.
