BAGONG TULAY BINUKSAN SA AGUSAN DEL SUR (Mag-uugnay sa mga pamayanang agraryo sa mga pamilihan)

BUTUAN CITY – Pinangunahan ng Department of Agrarian Reform in Agusan del Sur (DAR-ADS) nitong Martes ang pagbubukas ng bagong tulay sa Barangay Panagangan sa bayan ng La Paz na mag-uugnay sa agrarian communities sa market centers sa Agusan del Sur.

Ayon kay DAR-ADS Provincial Officer Jamil P. Amatonding, Jr., mapapakinabangan ng 2,177 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) sa limang barangay ng La Paz ang “Tulay ng Pangulo” project, lalo na sa marketing ng kanilang farm products, gayundin ng 8,084 residente.

Aniya na ang Pangangan Bridge ay isa sa apat na tulay na itinayo sa ilalim ng President’s Bridge Program na ipinapupad ng ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at minonitor ng DAR.

“The bridge will link agrarian reform communities in the five barangays to the economic mainstreams, especially in the market centers in Agusan del Sur,” wika ni Amatonding.

Ang naturang inspraktura na isang double lane modular steel bridge na may kabuang haba na 22.80 linear meters ay pinondohan ng P20 milyon.

“This bridge will open more opportunities for our ARBs in La Paz and the neighboring barangays,” ani ni said DAR-Caraga Director Leomides R. Villareal.

Kinilala rin ni Villareal ang mahalagang papel ng ARBs para tiyakin ang seguridad ng pagkain sa Agusan del Usr at iba pa natitirang bahagi ng Caraga Region.

“Despite the pandemic, our ARBs continue to produce farm products for our markets. The building of infrastructures such as bridges allow our ARBs to bring their products directly to the market centers,” aniya.

“It is not enough to ensure our farmers the ownership of the land they till for years. They also need support services and infrastructures,” dagdag pa niya.
