3K DAYUHAN NAPIGILANG MAKAPASOK NG BANSA NOONG 2020

Humigit-kumulang 3,000 dayuhang lumabag sa Philippine immigration laws ang napa-deport ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa taong 2020.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, umabot sa kabuuang 3,219 dayuhan ang napa-deport sa nagdaang taon.

Sa nasabing bilang, nasa 3,009 aniya ang Chinese deportees, 60 Vietnamese, 40 Koreans, 25 Americans, 20 Japanese, 12 Indians, at limang Pakistanis.

“Deported aliens are automatically placed in our blacklist, and are banned from re-entering the Philippines,” pahayag ni Morente.

Marami aniya sa deportees ang naaresto dahil sa pagtatrabaho nang walang permit, pagkasangkot sa mga hindi awtorisadong online gaming operations, telecommunications fraud, economic crimes, investment scams, at cybercrime activities.

“We have arrested big batches of aliens in the past years through joint operations of BI operatives with other local law enforcement agencies,” saad nito.

Ngunit dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic, mas mababa aniya ang napa-deport na dayuhan kumpara sa naitalang higit 6,000 deportees taong 2019.

“This was a result of travel restrictions imposed by the government, wherein very little number of aliens were able to enter the country,” paliwanag nito.

Ipinag-utos aniya ang deportation sa mga dayuhan matapos mahatulan silang guilty sa paglabag sa immigration offenses tulad ng overstaying, pagtatrabaho ng walang permit, illegal entry, at pagiging undocumented.

“Some of them are wanted fugitives whose arrest and deportation was sought by governments of the countries where they have been charged or convicted for various crimes,” dagdag nito.

Sinabi rin ng BI official na hanggang December 22, 2021 nasa 276 dayuhan ang nananatili sa detention facility ng BI sa Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City na naghihintay sa kanilang deportation.
