Muling nagpatupad ng balasahan si Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. upang iangat ang posisyon ni National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major General Jonnel Estomo.
Si Estomo ay itinalaga ni Azurin bilang bagong Deputy Chief PNP for Operations, ang ikatlong pinakamataas na posisyon sa PNP command group.
Ayon kay PNP-Public Information Office (PIO) chief Police Colonel Redrico Maranan, papalitan ni Estomo si Police Lieutenant General Benjamin D. Santos Jr. sa pwesto at ibabalik sa Office of the Chief PNP.
Uupo bilang bagong NCRPO chief si Police Major General Allan O Okubo para palitan si Estomo.
Itinalaga naman bilang Director of Special Action Force si Police Brig. Fen. Rudolf B. Dimas habang ipinuwesto bilang Director ng Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 si Police Brigadier General Westrimundo D. Obinque.
Ang re- assignments ng mga bagong opisyal ay epektibo noong February 23, 2023.
Ayon kay Maranan, ang re-assignments sa mga matataas na opisyal sa PNP ay normal lamang dahil sa pagiging dynamic organization ng PNP na humaharap sa maraming pagsubok.
“The reassignments took effect on February 23, 2023. Reassignment of key officers is a normal occurrence in the PNP being a dynamic organization that faces countless challenges, straddling governance, battling internal and external issues, and national security threats,” paliwanag ni Maranan.
“Hence, securing a strong leadership pipeline equipped not only to cope with these challenges but also to strengthen policing success, effectiveness, and overall security reforms in the PNP. Likewise, such reassignments are also for the career growth of senior officers,“ dagdag ni Maranan.
