465K DISPLACED TOURISM WORKERS, MAY TIG-5K AYUDA

INAPRUBAHAN na ang one-time financial assistance na P5,000 na matatanggap ng 465,530 displaced tourism workers,  ayon sa Department of Tourism.

Ayon sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat, ang naturang tulong ay ibibigay sa pamamagitan ng kanilang cash assistance program kasama ang Department of Labor and Employment. Manggagaling ang pondo mula sa Bayanihan to Recover As One Law, o Bayanihan 2.

“We are hopeful that this financial assistance will provide some relief to our most affected stakeholders and tourism workers during these difficult times,”  ani ni Puyat.

“While it may help in the short term, we believe that the best way to help stakeholders, in the long run, is to develop a tourism industry that is stronger, more resilient, and more adaptable to change,”  saad pa nito.

Sa mga naaprubahang benepisyaryo, sinabi ng DOT na 450,202 workers y mula sa 15,982 establishments, organizations, at association nationwide habang 15,328 mula sa individual applications.

Una nang naipamahagi ng DOT ang one-time cash assistance sa 325,678 manggagawa.

Habang 139, 852 mga aprubadong aplikante ang naghihintay pa rin na maipamahagi ang tulong.
